If it's a PDF with selectable Thai text, Jam Kham can extract from it. Scanned image PDFs are not yet supported — the document needs selectable text.

Common Questions
What file formats are supported?
PDF files with selectable Thai text. Scanned image PDFs and photos of documents are not currently supported. We're working on OCR support for a future release.
How many documents can I upload?
Free accounts can upload up to 3 documents. The Free tier has a total vocabulary cap of 100 words across all sources — uploads and curated lessons share that limit. Study Thai ($7/mo) and All-Access ($10/mo) plans get unlimited uploads with no word cap.
How long does extraction take?
Most documents process in under 60 seconds. Large academic papers (50+ pages) may take 2-3 minutes. You'll get a notification when your vocabulary is ready.
Can I upload documents that mix Thai and English?
Yes. Jam Kham identifies and extracts only the Thai-language words. English text is ignored.
What happens if the same word appears in multiple documents?
Jam Kham recognizes duplicates. If you've already learned a word from a previous document, it won't create a duplicate card. Instead, the new example sentence from the second document gets added as additional context.
Can I choose which extracted words to study?
Yes. After extraction, you see the full word list and can select which words to add to your study queue. You can also filter by part of speech, frequency, or words you already know.
Do extracted words include audio?
Yes. Every extracted word gets synthesized Thai audio at both normal and slow speeds, just like curated vocabulary.
Is my uploaded document stored?
Documents are processed for vocabulary extraction and then deleted from our servers. We do not store your PDFs. Only the extracted vocabulary data is kept in your account.
